The Renaissance of Innovation occurred within Caspia at the prompting of Presav Lyr Dunwell's new administration. Dunwell was a cultured, galactically-educated man, and realized the importance of an increased and improved industrial infrastructure to a new government. His predecessor, Wiltmer Gerrin, had done well to keep the momentum rolling from the foundation Dergan Roj and his staff had laid down the previous year, and while military prowess was crucial, it would not progress the development of Caspia or its constituent states.

  • The Renaissance of Innovation occurred within Caspia at the prompting of Presav Lyr Dunwell's new administration. So, acting under the auspices of military cooperation, Dunwell put the worlds to work. Firstly, he contracted several key industries under the Crest Commission Consolidation Charter, wherein certain manufacturers, such as SubPro, NovaCom Cybertronics, and InterSpec, were given lucrative subsidies to improve both their facilities, processes, and product lines. A few businesses were consolidated to prevent their failure and abandonment (the birth of CASE). Perhaps most importantly, though, was the foundation of the Caspian Design & Manufacturing Corporand, an engineering thinktank of revolutionary potential. Improvement proposals and employment actions were authorized right and left by Dunwell's office. The cities mobilized and were invigorated to get involved in the transformation. Yaerberron benefitted the most, witnessing a surge of industry, commerce, and population. The military forces were put to work, with Provincial Army units undertaking large transportation and infrastructure projects, such as expanding Caspar's necessary Aerotram rail system. The crown jewel of the Renaissance was the momentous endeavour of transforming a small refueling & mining platform into a full-fledged orbital space station. Established and expanded upon during the Imperial occupation, much fervent discussion was made about taking it to a level capable enough of exploiting the mining and refining potential that lay within Kichnar's strata. Numerous companies and contractors signed onto the project, and it surged forward with tremendous zeal. SubPro, at that time under the chairmanship of a shrewd Wookiee named R'hakye, took controlling interest in the still-capable Victoria Drydocks, but as soon as the new station was proposed, immediately pursued a loan package and initiated plans for what would become Sloan Drydocks. These new facilities would more than triple the capabilities of the Union to construct and service starships. The sudden assassination of Dunwell marked the climax of the Renaissance, for while existing endeavours continued to their completion, much of the fevered enthusiasm and innovative spirit was gone with the enigmatic president. Galactic historians now mark the end of the timeperiod with the opening of Kichnar Orbital Station. While the Renaissance came to an end, the creative vivacity of the Caspian people continued on, and can be found in many of the unique objects and systems that have become signature Caspian in nature.
