Elledis was a weasel, a former ruler of the southern coasts. She traveled north and encountered Redwall Abbey. In a fight with an unnamed Abbey Warrior, her mate Kogun was killed. She had two twins, Klara and Flatchett (female and male, respectively) who were abandoned in Mossflower woods. The Long Patrol arrived and defeated her horde, and she fled. She was attacked by an eagle while still holding Martin's Sword, and dropped it on the roof. She killed the eagle and barely survived. She took to wearing a robe and hood to disguise her grotesque wounds, thus establishing herself as "The Hooded One"
