En su forma humana, es conocido como Lord Victor Nefarius, Señor de Roca Negra. Con el clan Blackrock y varios clanes de ogros bajo su dominio, Nefarian los dirige desde su guarida en la cima de Cumbre de Roca Negra.

- Nefarian is the son of the evil dragon, Deathwing, and the brother of Onyxia. He first appeared in his human guise, Lord Victor Nefarius, working with the Blackrock Orcs. With the help of the Orcs and their Warchief, Rend Blackhand, Nefarian ruled over the volcano, Blackrock Mountain. The players invaded the Blackrock Spire, where Nefarian watched from a balcony as they battled Rend Blackhand. Blackhand was killed, and Nefarian fled further into the mountain.
- Nefarian(auch als Dunkel- oder Pechschwinge bekannt, in seiner humanoiden Tarnung Lord Victor Nefarius) war der Sohn des gefallenen Erdwächters Neltharion, besser bekannt als Todesschwinge, und dessen erster Gefährtin Sintharia. Seine Schwester ist Onyxia. Der Sohn teilte den Wahnsinn seines Vaters und war stets loyal. In dessen Namen unterwarf er die dunkle Horde der Schwarzfelsspitze. Von seinem Hort auf der Bergspitze aus schuf er schreckliche Drachenwesen und kämpte mit Ragnaros um die Vorherrschaft der Legion.
- Nefarian is the current leader of the Black Dragonflight. He took over from the Ancient Black Wyrm, Annihilan, during the Great Dragon War. Nefarian is a scientist at heart - he has majorly upgraded his home, Blackrock Mountain, with modern technology, including a working holographic computer display inside his inner sanctum. His stated goal is the perfection of the draconian species, via selective breeding and gene-splicing. Currently, he is working with the ancient red wyrm, Groularougarn, to aid in the investigation of strange weather conditions on the red dragon's home.
- Héritier d'Aile de mort, l'Aspect de la Terre, Nefarian est devenu le maître incontesté du Vol Noir depuis la disparition d'Aile de mort suite au carnage de l'Âme du Démon. Contrairement à son père Aile de mort et sa sœur Onyxia qui utilisent des apparences humaines du nom de Prestor, Nefarian est connu sous le nom de Victor Nefarius sous sa forme humaine. Grâce à Onyxia, matriarche du Vol Noir, les Dragons Noirs sont redevenus nombreux et Nefarian a trouvé de précieux alliés au sein des Orcs du Clan Rochenoire.
