The unnamed Woman was a prospective candidate for the position of nanny to Asha and Aadi Alahan following the death of their mother Sunita. Mary Taylor was determined to bag the post herself and when she saw the woman reading the advert affixed to the Corner Shop door, told her that Dev Alahan had a reputation for being "hands-on" with his female employees. When Dev came out of the shop and asked if he could help the woman, she gave him a look of contempt and answered in the negative, pausing only for a moment to advise puzzled shop assistant Sophie Webster to "run for the hills".
