Carrie Ann was born & raised in Honolulu and is of Japanese, Irish, and Chinese descent. Carrie Ann is a graduate of UCLA; prior to this she studied at Sophia University & UC Irvine. She also graduated from Punahou School (aka Oahu College) in 1986. After graduation, Carrie Ann later moved to Tokyo and started a singing career. While there, the then-pop singer released three singles, "Party Girl" (backed with "China Blue"), "Be Your Girl" (backed with "6½ Capezio"), and "Yume no Senaka" (backed with "Searching"); plus, she hosted her own weekly radio and television series. Carrie Ann spent two years living in Tokyo, Japan. After leaving Tokyo and moving back to America, Carrie Ann got a job as one of the special backup dancers called the "Fly Girls" on TV's In Living Color on FOX (a show that made stars out of the Wayans brothers, Tommy Davidson, Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier, That's so Raven's T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Coles, among others). Carrie Ann was with the show for two years from 1990 to 1992. In 2005 (three years later), Carrie Ann Inaba was hired for the job that changed her life: you guessed it, a job as one of the three judges on Dancing with the Stars; the other judges are Bruno Tonioli & Len Goodman. Carrie Ann also starred with Bruno in the short-lived ABC dancing failure Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann in early 2008. Recently, Carrie Ann was asked to host a revival of 1 vs 100 which she accepted. The show was revived & premiered on GSN on November 15, 2010.
