The weapon hit hard at short range shredding armor and stopping light vehicles in their tracks. The system also had a superior rate of fire to comparable weapons and a high ammunition capacity based off its over-sized power pack. The SR-8 has has a fire selector allowing the weapon to be fired semi-automatic, burst, or fully automatic. The weapon saw limited use and was nearly phased out of existence as a military weapons system during the Sith Occupations. The Weapon saw resurgence in police forces, criminal organizations, and later the Anari Commonwealth’s Home Guard. The Elysian Skyborne regiment was so fond of the weapon that they commissioned a specially designed variant with a foreward handle grip for greater control of the weapon and a collapsible stock.
