  • Glowing Mushrooms are mushrooms that grow in Gribade Canyon. It is popular for food and medicinal purposes.
  • Glowing Mushroom is an ingredient in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It can be used to make potions at an alchemy lab as part of alchemy.
  • Glowing Mushrooms are a building block and material found in blue grassy areas local to the Underground biome, normally in the stone layer. They may occur anywhere in the stone layer, at the top or the very bottom, so don't get frustrated if you can't find them. These may be used to make houses with walls and furniture , or used in alchemy to create healing and Mana Potions. Glowing mushrooms are not always dropped when harvesting them from the small mushroom nodes but are always dropped from the mushroom trees.
  • Glowing Mushrooms can be "mined" with Obsidian Mining Cells from the Stalactite layer where they grow in the shape of blocks among rocks and give a faint blue glow. These mushrooms can also be obtained as random drops or pet-harvest from Mirus. Glowing mushrooms cannot be placed again, instead they will be eaten by the player-character if used. Glowing mushrooms - like other mushrooms - will heal a bit more than a quarter of maximal health (the red bar) over time for ca. 30 seconds (shown with a heart-symbol on the left side of the screen).

Glowing mushrooms can be consumed either from a quickbar (drag it there with the mouse-cursor by holding left-click from your inventory if needed) with right-click, or by dragging them with the mouse-cursor by holding left-click from the inventory over the character's model in the equipment-window on the right side. Glowing mushrooms - like other mushrooms - will heal a bit more than a quarter of maximal health (the red bar) over time for ca. 30 seconds (shown with a heart-symbol on the left side of the screen). Cooldown: once a glowing mushroom was consumed and the healing-effect starts, you cannot immediately consume another glowing mushroom, but will have to wait until the first one has finished it's healing. However you can consume other mushrooms (Brown Mushrooms, Red Mushrooms), and/or Food while the healing-effect of the glowing mushroom is still ongoing. You can also use the healing effects of Mineral Water and/or Healing Beacons while being healed by a glowing mushroom at the same time. Currently (R25 in November 2015) glowing mushrooms are necessary for crafting Iron Mining Cells. A number of crafting-recipes are currently (R25 in November 2015) demanding mushrooms of any kind, which means you can browse within the recipes to choose glowing mushrooms - or also brown or red mushrooms. Examples would be Wood Mining Cells, Charged Wood Mining Cells, Basic Health Potions, Stone Mining Cells, Obsidian Mining Cells and Taming Collars.
They can be found as big as surface trees, usually around half a dozen on any given glowing mushroom patch. These giant mushrooms must be chopped down with an axe just like a normal tree if you wish to harvest them, and can rarely drop a Mushroom Grass Seed (2% chance). They also drop a varying number (few to many) of glowing mushrooms when cut down, although it's not necessary as the smaller mushrooms do, in fact, drop seeds. Glowing mushrooms are not always dropped when harvesting them from the small mushroom nodes but are always dropped from the mushroom trees. The player can tell when he is close to a patch of glowing mushrooms because of the light they emit in the darkness. As of 1.2, It is possible to place glowing mushrooms as a block. This is required to spawn the Truffle, by constructing a house entirely of Mushrooms. Glowing mushrooms will grow even with a wall behind them and walls will prevent monsters from spawning. This means that mushroom farms can be made much safer than ordinary Glowing Mushroom biomes. This applies mostly to Hardmode where new, stronger monsters native to Glowing Mushroom biomes will spawn.
