However, the quest was to be completed by the Feast of Fortuna, or the camp would be destroyed by an advancing army of monsters, led by the Giant Polybotes. On the date of the feast, Hazel, Frank, and Percy managed to make it to the Hubbard Glacier, defeat the giant Alcyoneus, and recapture the Legion's Eagle. They then race back to Camp Jupiter, where Percy manages to defeat Polybotes, while the campers and Amazons manage to repel his invading army. Percy is then raised as the camp's new Praetor, much to Octavian's annoyance. However, Octavian reads the will of the gods, and says that this year would bring good luck.
