The block was once in a cluster of 3, and was originally called Mildane Block 2, but has stood alone since 14th July 2002 when its 2 sister blocks, along with Drake House were demolished. The block featured on the Tower block of Commons Channel 4 TV series, when Austin Mitchell MP temporarily stayed at the block. However, following a review of the Orchard Park Estates' Housing Stock the Council decided to demolish Mildane, and by late September 2012 the tower block had been cleared of residents with demolition scheduled for later in the year.

The block has been earmarked for demolition since 2008 when the council began planning for the demolition of all 7 remaining high rise blocks on the estate. However, it won a temporary reprieve along with the other 6 tower blocks on Orchard Park Estate, when Hull City Council decided not to demolish all the remaining tower blocks on the estate. However, following a review of the Orchard Park Estates' Housing Stock the Council decided to demolish Mildane, and by late September 2012 the tower block had been cleared of residents with demolition scheduled for later in the year.
