  • Over Boost temporarily changes the homunculus and Geneticist's FLEE and ASPD (sets both to a fixed amount). It is unknown what occurs if either's Flee or ASPD are greater than what the skill sets them to.
  • Over Boost (OB) is a Core function that debuted in Armored Core 2. It is a larger, more powerful, burst-type booster mounted in the back of the Armored Core's core. Cores with this function allowed the Armored Core to move high speeds. When activated, plates or panels on the back of the Armored Core will open to reveal the over booster(s), which will charge briefly before explosively accelerating the Armored Core to speeds approaching 900kph (approximately Mach 0.74), depending on the core and the overbooster. This alleviates the problem of the Armored Core's relatively slow (300-500kph) average speed when using standard boost. The drawback of OB is the massive amount of energy drained and possible Overheat when in use.

In Armored Core 4 and Armored Core: For Answer, Over Boost is no longer a Core-specific function, but a general part that can be installed in the AC. As with previous games, they rapidly consume energy, but now also Kojima Particles as well, further limiting their use due to the harm done to defensive capabilities. The consumption of KP is meant to balance out the fact there is no heat system in AC4-era games. The Armored Core V and Verdict Day equivalent is Glide Boost. Unlike previous iterations, Glide Boost is an innate feature available to all ACs. Additionally, Glide Boost, unlike OB, requires the AC to be standing on a surface and cannot be activated mid-air.
