Item Transfer was a system that allowed a user to transfer party hats and penguin age from Club Penguin. The method used to automate the transfer process worked by sending packets of data to Club Penguin, which would then report back the information necessary. This displayed as players rapidly joining and leaving, leading Disney to claim it a "threat" and forcing the development team to resort to manually transferring items via a ticket system. Due to the mass amount of tickets sent in a short time, item transfer was closed for good, only lasting a day. Only 300 penguins were transferred through tickets.
