- The system is most commonly named 'Sol', from the Latin word for the 'Sun', the common name for the star which supports the system's population of Humans and other plant and animal life. The planets are gas giants in its outer rings, and solid worlds in its inner rings. The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, and the outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
- The planet Mars is the only one besides Earth itself to have a special role, since the Avatar again visits in Martian Dreams. Besides its sun, the Terran Solar System consists of the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Not seen on the chart is Planet X, which is a secret place in the system.
