Commodore Enwright was a 23rd century Starfleet flag officer who served as the commander of Starbase 6 during the late 2260s. In 2268, Commodore Enwright ordered the USS Enterprise to his station. He contacted the Enterprise before they could initiate contact. When asked by Captain James T. Kirk what the reason for the diversion was, Enwright told him that the explanation was beaming aboard the Enterprise as they spoke and might have already materialized.

- Commodore Enwright was a 23rd century Starfleet flag officer who served as the commander of Starbase 6 during the late 2260s. The person in question, Robert Wesley, explained that the Enterprise had been chosen to test the tactical abilities of Dr. Richard Daystrom's experimental M-5 multitronic unit against an attack force commanded by Wesley. (TOS: "The Ultimate Computer" ) The voice of the unseen commodore was provided by James Doohan. According to the first draft of the script, dated 30 November 1967 , Enwright beamed aboard the Enterprise along with Wesley to brief Spock and James T. Kirk in the transporter room. The character was ultimately cut by the final draft, and his lines were given to Wesley. According to the aforementioned first draft, he was described as follows: "Enwright is fiftyish, perhaps visibly too heavy for his uniform. He is an administrative officer, and a good one, but he's never been a command pilot."
