| - John William Ramsay Behr (September 28, 1920 - June 8, 2013) was an American Nationalist politician from Aroostook who served as a U.S. Senator from February of 1965 until January 3, 1991. He also served as a U.S. Representative for Aroostook's 2nd District from 1962 until his election to the Senate in a special election. From October of 1981 until he left the Senate, he was the chamber's floor leader for his party, serving as Senate Majority Leader from 1981 until 1983 and again from 1985 until 1987.
