- Rez (derived from resolve) is a term used for the compiling of a program, user or object into the Game Grid or the Tron system, whether it is a user or object being being digitized into the system, a program being created by a user, or a weapon or vehicle being generated from a baton.

- Rez was a male Defel Jedi who served as a member of the Jedi Intelligence Network. He was on Ossus at the time of the Battle of Ossus, and served with distinction in the battle, fighting alongside his Master Kyle Katarn. He is the only known person capable of using Force resurrection to bring a dead person back to life, an ability he used on Ossus to restore Anakin Fel. However, the massive amount of Force energy required to perform this miracle wound up consuming Rez, who died in Anakin's place.
- Rez in Second Life means to create or to make an object appear. Rezzing an object/prim can be done by dragging it from a resident's inventory or by creating a new one via the edit window. The term "rezzing" can also be used for waiting for a texture or object to load, such as "Everything is still rezzing." or "Your shirt is still rezzing for me." Taken from the movie Tron's term "de-rezz", which roughly means to dissolve in a certain way. Temporary (on Rez) is an object state/parameter/property that will delete the object after a set period of time (varies; see link below for more info).

- Rez is a megalomaniacal, cybernetic entity, and the main antagonist of the series; he is also the arch-nemesis of Gex. His one true ambition is to control the entire Media Dimension under his own rule and ensure the longevity of bad TV shows and Z-Grade movies. He leads an army of various TV characters from different TV worlds which is where his nickname "Lord of the Media Dimension" came in. He also has a collection of Star Trek bloopers, according to Xtra (whom he kidnapped in the third game to get to Gex).
