Government schools are more commonly referred to as "public schools". Many libertarians, however, feel it is important to refer to "public schools" as "government schools" or "government-run public schools", to make it clear that if education were handled by the free market, there would still be schools that would be open to the public, but they would be privately and voluntarily funded.
