- The Trojan War was a war fought between Greece and the city-state of Troy. There were many heros made and lost during the war, including the Achilles. It is said that that war was started over a women, Helen of Troy. Achilles was invincible due to having bathed in the River Styx and his Magic Shield. He was only kiled because an arrow wound in his heel finally led to his death.
- Although the factual and certified opening of the Trojan War cannot be brought to light, many a myth have been weaved to fill the gap. One of the most well known myths speaks of a mortal named Paris. Paris eloped with the beautiful queen of Sparta, Helen, to be his wife. However, Helen belonged to another, king Menelaus. Raging at the insult and betrayal, Menelaus called to arms many kings, including his brother Agamemnon. The Greeks spent time preparing, and eventually attacked the walled city of Troy. And thus, the war was started.
- The Rani was also present at the Trojan War at some point in the conflict, extracting chemicals from the brains of humans. (TV: The Mark of the Rani)
- An Axis & Allies variant from the Guild of Blades. Boardgamegeek Entry
- Greek expansion overseas has brought them in contact with other cultures that pose both opportunities and dangers. The beautiful Helen has been stolen by Paris and taken back to his home city of Troy. Paris is the son of Priam, king of Troy. To restore the honor of the Myceneans, take revenge on the city of Troy by killing Hector, its hero, and capturing the treasure of Priam. Troy is far across the sea and taking the city will require an invasion of the Trojan homeland. The Trojan navy must be neutralized first.

- The Trojan War was a ten-year-long war fought at Troy between Mycenae and its allies (notably Sparta, Athens, Pylos, Thebes, etc), against Troy and their (notably Dardania, Lycia, Aethiopia, Amazonia, Thrace). The war consisted mainly of the siege of the city of Troy, as well as sallies made by the defenders and Greek forays into neighbouring regions allied with the Anatolian city. The Trojan War ended with the trick retreat of the Greek forces, with a small number remaining in a large, wooden horse. The Trojans rolled the horse into the city believing it was a peace offering and a gift to the Gods. When night fell, the Greek men got out of the horse and opened the city gates, enabling the returning Greek armies to breach the city and ransack it.
- According to Greek mythology, the Greeks use a huge wooden horse, and hid their military inside, and was able to enter the city of Troy and win the war. Penguin once attempted to steal a replica of the Trojan Horse, but he is stopped by Batman and Robin. Doctor Pelagian had two pet seabirds named Helen and Hector, both of whom were named after Helen of Troy and Hector of Troy, two people that played a key role in the Trojan War.
- The Trojan War was the 10-year long conflict between the city of Troy and the armies of Greece, led by King Agememnon of Myceanae. The war has been talked about for ages and involved some of the most famous figures in Greek Mythology. The story of the war is told in The Iliad (as Troy was known to the Greeks as Ilion or Ilios).
- The war originated from a quarrel between the goddesses Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite, after Eris, the goddess of strife and discord, gave them a golden apple, sometimes known as the Apple of Discord, marked "for the fairest". Zeus sent the goddesses to Paris, who judged that Aphrodite, as the "fairest", should receive the apple. In exchange, Aphrodite made Helen, the most beautiful of all women and wife of Menelaus, fall in love with Paris, who took her to Troy. Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and the brother of Helen's husband Menelaus, led an expedition of Achaean troops to Troy and besieged the city for ten years because of Paris' insult. After the deaths of many heroes, including the Achaeans Achilles and Ajax, and the Trojans Hector and Paris, the city fell to the ruse of the Trojan Horse.

The Achaeans slaughtered the Trojans (except for some of the women and children whom they kept or sold as slaves) and desecrated the temples, thus earning the gods' wrath. Few of the Achaeans returned safely to their homes and many founded colonies in distant shores. The Romans later traced their origin to Aeneas, one of the Trojans, who was said to have led the surviving Trojans to modern day Italy. The ancient Greeks thought the Trojan War was a historical event that had taken place in the 13th or 12th century BCE, and believed that Troy was located in modern day Turkey near the Dardanelles. By modern times both the war and the city were widely believed to be non-historical. In 1870, however, the German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann excavated a site in this area which he identified as Troy; this claim is now accepted by most scholars. Whether there is any historical reality behind the Trojan War is an open question. Many scholars believe that there is a historical core to the tale, though this may simply mean that the Homeric stories are a fusion of various tales of sieges and expeditions by Mycenaean Greeks during the Bronze Age. Those who believe that the stories of the Trojan War derive from a specific historical conflict usually date it to the 12th or 11th centuries BCE, often preferring the dates given by Eratosthenes, 1194–1184 BCE, which roughly corresponds with archaeological evidence of a catastrophic burning of Troy VIIa.
