It tells a tale of three cows who search for a wanted criminal to save their farm from going bankrupt. This movie is notorious for being an absolute commercial failure (despite mixed reviews from film critics) and it is often blamed for putting traditionally-animated films out of business, considering its quality consensus-wise, and the fact that it was one of the last traditionally-animated Disney film until The Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh.

  • "Home on the Range" is a classic western song, sometimes called the unofficial anthem of the American West. The lyrics were originally written by Dr. Brewster M. Higley of Smith County, Kansas in a poem entitled "My Western Home" in the early 1870s. In 1947 it became the state song of the American state of Kansas. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time. It was sung by Francis Monogram in "Buford Confidential"
  • Alvin: Where the deer and the cantaloupe play Dave: Not cantaloupe, Alvin. Antelope. The Chipmunks: Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day Home, home on the range Alvin: Where the deer and the cantaloupe play Dave: Alvin. The Chipmunks: Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day Dave: Now look Alvin. Before you start singing again, the right word is antelope. That's an animal, like a deer. A cantaloupe is something you eat. Alvin: Well, I'm hungry! Dave: Nevermind now. Sing! The Chipmunks: Home, home on the range
  • (The Disneycember logo is shown, before showing clips from Home on the Range. The main theme of the movie, "(You Ain't) Home On The Range", plays throughout. Note: Doug's voice sounds extremely bored here)
  • Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam Where the deer and the antelope play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day Home, home on the range Where the deer and the antelope play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day How often at night where the heavens are bright With the light of the glittering stars Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed If their glory exceeds that of ours
