Kessler also worked on Ready to Rumble, while Mark Garbarino, a makeup artist on 2009's Star Trek, worked on Rent. Before she began working with Mindy Hall, Coleman was a makeup assistant on the 1995 film Jade, which featured special makeup effects by Bruce Barlow, hair styling by Charlotte A. Parker, and a performance by Donna Murphy. Coleman was later a makeup artist on the 1999 film Breakfast of Champions, where she worked with Star Trek: The Next Generation makeup veteran Gerald Quist. Coleman was the key makeup artist on three comedies starring Eddie Murphy: 2007's Norbit, 2008's Meet Dave, and the upcoming A Thousand Words. Working with her on Norbit were Jamie Kelman, Bart Mixon, Mike Smithson, and Clinton Wayne, all of whom later worked on Star Trek. On Meet Dave, Coleman worked with Marianna Elias and Ned Neidhardt, both of whom also worked with her on Star Trek. A Thousand Words featured Coleman's talents in collaboration with Cynthia Hernandez and Susan Stepanian. In addition, Coleman and Marianna Elias were makeup artists on the 2008 comedy The House Bunny, along with another Star Trek makeup artist, Kimberly Felix-Burke, and Star Trek hair stylist Lana Heying. Coleman had previously worked with Kimberly Felix-Burke on the 2007 drama The Jane Austen Book Club, which was edited by Maryann Brandon. Look to provide makeup for the additional photography of the 2008 comedy Meet the Spartans, for which the aforementioned Ned Neidhardt was key makeup artist.
