  • The Atlanta Junior Knights are a Tier III junior hockey team. The organization is based out of Marietta, Georgia. The organization appears to have been founded in 2007. The teams in the organization play their home games at the Marietta Ice Center. As of June 2015, the team is having the Atlanta Knights Sports Center built to function as their new home. Construction of the facility stared in December, 2014. The first information on the team comes when they were added to the Southeast Junior Hockey Leaguein April of 2007. The team was known as the Atlanta Jr. Thrashers when the team was announced but changed to their current name before they took to the ice that fall. The team played in the SEJL until the league became part of the Empire Junior Hockey League as the EJHL South in 2011. The EJHL South was absorbed into the United States Premier Hockey League's Empire Division for the 2013-14 season. The team was successful from the start winning the SEJHL's playoffs its first three seasons (2008-2010. The third championship was capped off with the 2010 USA Hockey Tier III National Championship.
