In a dimly lit cavern on an asteroid located in the far reaches of the outer rim a stasis pod opens. The being within slowly struggles to open his eyes. Visions flood his mind. Memories? As he comes closer to awareness he is filled with rage, anger….an undefined hatred. Cracking open his eyelids the form of a man becomes apparent standing over him. The shadowed figure wore a large round brimmed hat, darkening his face from view. “Your name is Bael, do you remember?” “My name…..my name is not Bael,” he concentrated hard but could not derive anything to deny what the man had told him.

  • In a dimly lit cavern on an asteroid located in the far reaches of the outer rim a stasis pod opens. “Your name is Bael, do you remember?” Lying on his back in the stasis pod he clenched his fists as he struggled to recall. The leather of his gloves creaked, he made an attempt to sit up. His head swooned, he fell back and tried to focus on the man still standing over him. “My name…..my name is not Bael,” he concentrated hard but could not derive anything to deny what the man had told him. He demanded of the man, “Who are you?” “I am Vermah Saval,” he replied, “You appointed me many years ago to be here on this moment, it is not a surprise that you cannot recall considering what you have been through.” Frustrated and confused Bael snarled, “And what have I been through?!” Vermah feared his old master for a moment, and then reassured himself that Bael could not possibly remember yet what had happened. Vermah did not have all the answers, he was only doing what he was instructed to do. He watched as Bael’s eyes clouded over, he could see the old anger rising. Bael’s eyes changed with a surge of the Dark Side to be those of the Sith. Vermah’s heat rate increased, he was struck with fear. He remembered his old master’s anger and worried that although there was no way he could yet recall who he had once been that the anger within would return. As Bael continued to awaken his senses became aglow with sudden bursts of perception, “Who did this? Who put me here?!” Vermah rent with fear stuttered as he answered the young Anzati form, “You did this, my Lord. I fear I do not have the answers you seek, I only do what I have been ordered to do.” Bael’s blood was boiling, “What have you been ordered to do?!” Vermah rent with fear took a few stumbling steps back, he could feel his throat tightening as he sensed Bael’s fury growing. He riffled in his pockets quickly and procured a data-pad and attempted to read from it. Bael’s hand extended towards Vermah’s neck as he sat up in the stasis pod, using Force choke to grasp Saval harshly. As Saval started to choke he managed to stutter out the words “Korriban…..but, first…..the Hutt, the Hutt named Belutric!” Bael tightened his fist and slowly closed his eyes as Vermah’s neck broke with a snap. The data-pad he held fell to the floor below followed by the husk of his mortal coil. Bael rose from the pod and picked up the data pad. It would seem his name was Bael Vidhar. He was Anzati. Arching his eyebrow he read what little information was on the data-pad. Saval’s mission was to get him to Korriban, and to lead him to retrieve a holocron from the Hutt named Beluric on Nal Hutta. Bael looked down to the still warm body of the former servant and thought it was a pity Vermah had no other information for him. He vaguely remembered the man, or rather the sense of him, and wondered if they had been friends. Strange visions floated through his skull, like someone else’s memories were rising to the surface. He did not know who he was, or what. He could feel the Dark Side of the Force surging strongly within, the only solid thing he seemed to know. This was instinct, he would bide it, let it guide him. Inside the stasis pod he had been in was a double bladed light saber. He picked it up and ran his gloved finger across the ornate etchings of it’s hilt. He knew this weapon, it was his own….he had made this. Twisting the hilt in the center it separated into two parts, which he attached to the clips on his wide leather belt. Bael picked up the hat his fallen former servant had been wearing, and removed the half mask from the body. Putting them on he looked at the data-pad again. A map of the mining asteroid appeared on the screen which revealed the location of the small vessel Saval had apparently used to get here. It was a small craft, unlikely able to get him very far. Korriban was many parsecs away, Nal Hutta even further. Looking at his location on a galactic map from the data-pad he thought perhaps he could make it as far as Dantooine and wondered if he could pass as a Jedi long enough to steal a better ship. He reached down to Vermah’s body and removed the droid caller from the deceased’s belt, speaking into it into it he chanced that there was a droid nearby attached to it to respond, “Prepare the ship to depart immediately.” The chirping of a astro-mech droid replied. Bael would soon be closer to the answers he sought.
