Tina Jones was appointed as Minister for Transport and Housing, a junior position subordinate to the Minister for Home Affairs, in April 2006 following a reshuffle. It is unusual for a minister, even a junior one, to represent a marginal seat. Ms. Jones is not married but lives with her long-term partner in Flaxton. They have one son.
