During the outbreak of the Second Extrasolar War, the UCA Navy provided assistance to the ISA troops during the invasion of Vekta by Helghast forces, but arrived after the initial invasion. The reinforcement suffered the loss of two cruisers to the Helghast-controlled SD Platform.
