| - Dark Squadron was an Imperial Navy unit of TIE/ln starfighters serving the Galactic Empire. Assigned to Grand Admiral Thrawn's Task Force Whirlwind, they fought along side the Black Eight Squadron and Hydra Squadron against the rogue Admiral Harkov's forces. Following the Galactic Civil War and Emperor Palpatine's death at Endor, they were formed into an elite squadron of some of the best pilots in the galaxy. The newly reformed Dark Squadron was assigned by an Imperial Inquisitor to the Byss Defense Fleet. When the Dark Empire was formed, they fought during Operation Shadow Hand. An ace pilot colonel named Marek Vaiken Stele was made a member.
