  • Chris Allen (born May 8, 1978 in Chatham, Ontario) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for Coventry Blaze in the Elite Ice Hockey League.
  • Chris has been yo-yoing since the mid-80s and received his nickname of Dr. Yo-Yo in the late 90s while working at a toy store. Kids would bring him broken yo-yos and he would fix them for free (string, bearing, axle, etc) and organically, he was being referred to as Dr. Yo-Yo. The name stuck, and before long Chris was being called Dr. Yo-Yo everywhere. After a while, Chris moved to a position managing a yo-yo store called YoYo Connection. During this time, Chris performed at a few schools and malls with the SoCal division of Team High Performance, and assisted in teaching classes. In 2000 Chris later took over as lead of a yo-yo club Stockton called Team T.O.Y.S (The Order of Yo - Stockton), but disbanded the club once yoyoers started focusing on Pokémon the Card Game.

Operation: Green Triangle raised $3000 for Cancer relief and research. Chris also approached the owners of the remaining operators at YoYoNation which had shut down in 2011, and took ownership of the forum to preserve years of historical threads and data. In 2013 Chris handed off the California State Yo-Yo Championship and shut down YoYoSkills.com in order to focus more on his family. During this time the Allen family took courses, certification, and training for Foster Care adoption resulting in the foster care and eventual adoption of two children.
