| - Gator Bait was formed in 2006 with Justin Arnold on bass, Vince Caffiero on drums, Charles Chausinand on guitar, David Wise on second guitar and Tom Stevens on vocals. The band got their name from a common term used to describe football teams defeated by the University Of Florida Gators. In Florida the term Gator Bait is synonymous with being an underdog. Gator Bait played their first show at Significant Records festival in 2006. This first show was done entirly with cover songs from classic straight edge hardcore bands. Half of the set was sung by iconic straight edge musician John Porcelly of Youth of Today, Judge and Shelter fame. After this show [David Wise] left the band due to lack of interest in the straight edge lifestyle. Gator Bait toured the southern United States in the summer of 2007 with the Florida hardcore band Trample which Justin Arnold and Charles Chausinand also played in. The Gator Bait lineup for this tour included [No Harm Done]] drummer Tommy Cantwell due to unavailability of Vince Caffiero. Gator Bait recorded their first record entitled [Glory Days]] in November, 2007 at Outlet Studios in Spar, Florida. This recording featured Justin Arnold on bass, Mike Mosier on drums, Charles Chausinand on guitar, and Tom Stevens on vocals. Additional vocals were sung by Sean Daugherty and "Big" Mike Amador. This record was released in early 2008 by Wardog Records with additional distribution by Get Outta Town Records which is run by Charles Chausinand. The following Gator Bait tour took the band to Central America in early 2008. Bass player Justin Arnold had befriended several local hardcore kids in Guatemala while traveling there with straight edge hardcore band [The First Step]] in 2007. Local promoters 502 Bookings run by Gato of the band Venganza and his partner Roi helped organize a 10 day trip that took the band through five different countries throughout Central America. Erik the Tiger from was integral in the planning of the Costa Rica and Panama portions of the tour. The lineup on this tour included Justin Arnold on bass, local Guatemalan drummer Andres of Sangre Joven fame, Charles Chausinand on guitar, and vocals were shared by Eddie Wendt and Robson Souza. Tom Stevens had to drop from the tour due to personal reasons at the last minute.
