The 2016 United States Presidential Election was the 58th Presidential Election in the US. It was the most important Presidential Election in US history, as it marked the end of the Democracy. It was also the first time a civilian with no political experience was elected President and the first time Pennsylvania voted Republican since 1988. It was also the first time the two major parties nominated candidates from the same state since 1944. It was also the first time four candidates won at least one state since 1860. Both candidates had historical unfavourability ratings.
