He burst out with the Sharks, scoring 73 points in 1972-73 and then 68 in 1973-74 and 60 with the relocated Michigan Stags/Baltimore Blades in 1974-75. He played two more seasons in the WHA and then played two seasons for the senior Thunder Bay Twins. He retired in 1979. In the NHL Veneruzzo played in 7 games and scored 1 goal and 1 assist. In the WHA he scored 151 goals and 123 assists in 348 games.
