  • Anthony Wilson is credited (from episode five onwards) with having developed the Planet of the Apes series for television. It's unclear exactly what Wilson's role was, although it's possible he wrote the original TV concept on which the entire series was based. Wilson by then had an impressive record in TV, having written episodes of Combat!, The Twilight Zone, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Fugitive, The Invaders and eight episodes of Irwin Allen's Land of the Giants, including the pilot episode. He had served as story consultant for episodes of Bonanza, The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters and Lancer, was story editor on the entire run of Lost in Space (1965-68), and created and wrote the George Peppard detective series Banacek (1972-74). Wilson's last credit was for the TV movie Computercide (1982), which he wrote and executive-produced.
