The introduction of the UV777P in 1998 was a full-fledged return for the UV series after a production halt in 1995 and the sobered UV7S model in 1997. For the UV777P Ibanez went all out with full body and neck binding, disappearing pyramid fingerboard inlay and a special "Light Without Heat" pyramid logo behind the bridge. In terms of specifications, the UV777P went through a couple of changes: In 2003 the Lo Pro Edge 7 tremolo was replaced with the new Edge Pro 7; in 2005 it got a five-ply neck like most Japanese made models. Addition for 2010 is the return of the Lo Pro Edge 7 tremolo.
