Kaminsky played in Russia for Dynamo Moscow until 1993, when he joined the Winnipeg Jets. In February, 1994, he was traded to the New York Islanders for Wayne McBean. He spent most of his time in North America playing in the minor pros. Kaminsky only played in 26 NHL games, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists. He retired in 1999. He was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993. Now he Coaches the Kennesaw Pheonix in Kennesaw GA
