Radd proved to be a valuable warrior during the many battles on his home world for resources. He gained fame for the many kills he received during combat. Wanting to expand his small time drug ring, Radd began paying mercenaries to do his dirty work, such as getting rid of his rivals on the streets. Radd would put large bounties on the heads of his competitors, would result in an influx of bounty hunters and mercenaries on Clantaano III. After they brought in the heads of his rivals, Radd would offer a position in his growing business. Many accepted the offer, as those who did not wound up dead or tortured. As a result, Radd's drug ring grew into the largest criminal organization on Clantaano III. He soon expanded his criminal empire to smuggling, setting up smugglers with ships to fly for him. To be sure that the smugglers did there jobs and didn't fly off, he would have the freighters rigged with self-destruct devices, to go off if the ship flew to far of course.
