[Source] On the forest moon of Endor, the shipwrecked pirates known as the Sanyassan Marauders erected lava-rock obelisks to scare potential invaders away from their fortified barracks. The Marauders' obelisks were frequently carved into horned, grimacing faces with a gaping mouth. At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY, the Imperial sergeant Pfilbee Jhorn scouted the forest moon's surface and discovered the Marauders. In his mission reports, Jhorn mentioned in passing the presence of intimidating monoliths around the pirates' castle.

In his mission reports, Jhorn mentioned in passing the presence of intimidating monoliths around the pirates' castle. In 3.5 ABY, while en route to the stronghold in a mission to free their friend Cindel Towani from the Marauder's clutches, the Ewok Wicket Warrick and the Human hermit Noa Briqualon came across several of those horned pillars scattered upon the Dragon's Pelt savanna. The fast-paced individual know as Teek even bumped into one, and was frightened by its awe-inspiring appearance.
