  • The yowie is a mythical creature in Australia said to lurk the bush wilderness. Their description varies with the time. In earliest histories, Yowies were considered the same creatures as the bunyip - an amphibious serpentine-like beast with insectoid legs. Later, when a cryptozological fad hit Australia, the name was re-purposed to describe a hypothetical apelike men that are similar to the Yeti and Big Foot. Although they vary in size.
  • |} Le Yowie est un ennemi dans Final Fantasy X, rencontré dans la grotte du Priant volé, par groupe de trois sans autre adversaire.
  • A vampire in Austrialian legends.
  • In Australian Aboriginal mythology, the Yowie is a strange creature that resembles a combination of a lizard and an ant which emerged from the ground at night to eat anything it could find, including humans. In modern cryptozoology, it is considered a giant hairy humanoid like figure, an Australian equivalent of Bigfoot. It is considered similar to another Aboriginal mythological creature, the Bunyip. Though its description fits an Antlion more than a Raptor, the Yowie was added into Final Fantasy XI before Antlions were added.
  • Yowie is an enemy fought at the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth. It attacks with a basic physical attack that can inflict either Petrify or Silence, but is otherwise not a tough foe to defeat.
  • The Yowie is also blamed for the mutilation and death of household pets such as dogs, the reasons for these attacks could be predatory or simple aggression - rarely (if ever) has a Yowie been depicted as killing a human (though if the Aborigine legends are to be believed the Yowie wasn't beyond fighting with humans in the past). Some view the Yowie as a relative of the Bunyip - another Australian monster/cryptid - which puts a more supernatural slant to the creature and discredits it in the eyes of many scientists.
  • The Yowie is a huge hairy, elusive Australian monster. It hunts at knight, watching kangaroos, and others through the bush, right before attacking. It can leap great distances over rough areas-jumping over creeks and boulders. Monster at Wikia * Recent changes * * Subpages * Connections * Editing tutorial

  • Due to being made almost entirely of chocolate, the Yowie is forced to spend most of its time hiding in cool, dark caverns. Over many millions of years, countless Yowies have become trapped beneath the earth in cave-ins, and it is their fossils which are excavated in the vast open-cut chocolate mines which pepper the landscape of Western Australia. It is not known how long exactly Yowies have dwelt in Australia, but fossil remains have been found containing the remains of mammal-like reptiles, Thylocenes and, in one memorable instance, a Kronosaurus.

HistoryText
  • Yowie is an Australian superhero with the ability to change from Human form into a gigantic ape like creature. Early life Dallas Beckett was born in Sydney Australia. His mother died shortly after his brother's birth. Dallas was very patriotic and aspired to eventually join the army. During the outbreak of World War III, Dallas immediately signed up. However, before he was sent top fight, he was offered the place in a super-soldier program that was designed to greatly enhance his abilities. Dallas agreed to enter the program, where he was injected with a serum and bombarded with radiation. Rather than making him stronger, this caused Dallas to mutate into a nine foot tall ape like creature with large black eyes, sharp teeth, clawed hands and was covered in shaggy brown fur. Dallas quickly figured out how to control this mutation and was able to revert at will back to Human form. Because of his new abilities, the government signed him up to join the Hero Defence League of Australia. Superhero Dallas was sent to the HDLA's headquarters in Western Australia. While there he met the other members of the team dedicated to protecting Australia. Dallas spent the majority of his time at the base in the firing range or in the gym.
