- Gorgoroth is a Norwegian black metal band based in Bergen. Formed in 1992 by Infernus (who is also the only original member remaining), the band is named after the dead plateau of evil and darkness in the land of Mordor from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. The group is currently signed to Regain Records and have released eight full-length studio albums with both a re-recording of their third album, Under the Sign of Hell, and a new full-length album expected to be released in 2011.
- Das Gorgoroth war eine Hochebene im Nordwesten von Mordor, das sich zwischen Aschen- und Schattengebirge befand. Die Landschaft war öde und grau, dabei übersät von Orkgruben- und Garnisionen. Saurons Macht konzentrierte sich in den Ebenen des Gorgoroth, denn dort befand sich seine Festung Barad-dûr sowie der Schicksalsberg oder Orodruin wo der Eine Ring der Macht geschmiedet und auch vernichtet wurde. Während des Ringkrieges durchquerten Frodo und Sam das "Tal der Schrecken".

- I Gorgoroth (conosciuti anche come i Pornostar, i Gorgorottinculo o gli Sborroroth) sono una band Christian Metal proveniente dalla religiosissima Norvegia, che fonde sinfonie canore orecchiabili, accompagnati da un dolcissimo quartetto d'archi[citazione necessaria], con un sound brutale e selvaggio, simile al rumore prodotto da una betoniera. Il nome Gorgoroth sta ad indicare, probabilmente, il suono prodotto dal cesso quando, dopo aver tirato lo sciacquone, i residui fuoriescono/si accartocciano tra di loro e vengono inghiottiti dll'oscurità della tubatura. Infatti una tipica usanza dei membri della band è quella di tirare blocchi di merda sul pubblico e scoreggiarsi in faccia a vicenda. Per risultati davvero eccelsi, viene dato da inghiottire agli spettatori un chilo e mezzo di lassativ
