  • Recently, there has been a series of odd noises coming from somewhere. It included laughing, screeching, and banging. The first night I heard it, I assumed it was my neighbor's children playing around. It was preventing me form sleeping, so I knew I had to do something. "Can you please tell your children to quiet down. It's nearly midnight." "They're all sound asleep." I checked their rooms and they were all asleep. "Sorry for that," I said. I went back to my house and attempted to sleep. It was impossible, the noises danced through my head.

[3] The studio was formally established in 2004, following the team's work on Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.[4] Since its formation, The Third Floor has provided previsualization shots for several films, including 2007's TMNT (featuring the voice of Patrick Stewart), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (featuring Lee Arenberg and Greg Ellis), Evan Almighty (featuring Jimmy Bennett, Gregg Daniel, Bruce Gray, William Dennis Hunt, Harve Presnell, Tucker Smallwood, and Ruth Williamson), Beowulf (featuring Dominic Keating), The Happening (featuring Alan Ruck), and Meet Dave (starring Eddie Murphy and Gabrielle Union). Before Star Trek, The Third Floor worked with producer/director J.J. Abrams on the 2008 blockbuster, Cloverfield. The Third Floor's more recent projects have included the films Eagle Eye (produced by Star Trek writers/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci) and Valkyrie (directed by Bryan Singer). The company also created previsualization artwork for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and are currently working on that film's sequel, Voyage of the Dawn Trader. Other upcoming films on which The Third Floor is working include James Cameron's Avatar (starring Zoë Saldana), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (featuring numerous Marvel Comics characters), and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I went back to my house and attempted to sleep. It was impossible, the noises danced through my head. The next morning I went to work exhausted. I stayed up all night. When I arrived home, I felt another headache. This time it was worse. I could hear a ringing frequency in my ear that almost sounded like a scream. Insanity had the best of me. I could barely focus as a reached in a closet for my axe. I ran upstairs and smashed the door with as much strength as I could. The door chipped a hole big enough for me to crawl through. After I crawled through I threw up immediately at the sight of what was inside. There were three bodies, all young children. Their eyes were scooped out, and they had a giant gash in each of their chests. From what it looked like, most of their internal organs were taken and sprawled across the floor. The corpses of the children were smiling maniacally. The shrieking laughter grew louder. My headache was almost unbearable. I crawled out and ran as far away as I could. I knew something was chasing me. The laughter. It grew louder and danced around my head. I soon passed out. When I woke up, I was in the room. The door was back to normal and stuck. There was no other way but up. I headed up the staircase. The laughter was so loud that I felt as though my ears would bleed. The stairs seemed to go on forever. All of the sudden, I realized that I was walking downwards. My mind was being toyed with. I suddenly passed out again. When I woke up, I could not move. I could no longer see. I was in unbearable pain. All I could manage to do was laugh.
