Pedr James (born 21st June, 1942 in Cardiff) worked as a director on Coronation Street from September 1986 to August 1987 with 6 episodes to his name. James worked as an insurance clerk for five years before enrolling at Coleg Harlech in North Wales, then working for the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and for Mersey Television. His other credits include Brookside, the BBC adaptation of Martin Chuzzlewit and Our Friends In The North. From 1997 to 2000 he was Head of Drama at BBC Wales.
