- Arthedain was een van de drie rijken die uit Arnor ontstonden toen het gesplitst werd. In Arthedain leefde de Dúnedain het talrijkst en toen Cardolan en Rhudaur waren veroverd door Angmar werd soms ook wel gewoon Arnor genoemd. Amlaith was de stichter.

Der letzte König Arthedains, Arvedui, heiratete die Tochter des derzeitigen Königs von Gondor.
