The S920 is more of a metal lover's guitar and the "E" in the name indicates the EMG pickups — the EMG 81 and 60 active humbuckers give the S920 an aggressive tone, something rarely seen on Ibanez S series guitars. It is fitted with a three-way pickup switch and doesn't have a tone control. Other features of the S920E include a African mahogany body and a ZR2 tremolo bridge with ZPS3 back stop. It also has a Wizard Premium neck with titanium reinforcement (2012 only) and premium hand-rounded fret edges generally seen on much more expensive instruments.
