Chaos Rift (カオスリフト Kaosurifuto?) is a POW move and a Chaos Power used by Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Shadow opens a rift in time and space and launches it at a foe. This attack has a chance of instantly defeating an opponent. If the foe remains, the foe may become distracted.

- Chaos Rift is a Rare Town Curse belonging to the File:Icon Chaos.png realm. For File:Icon Mana.png it will open a rift into the File:Icon Chaos.png over the city. While the rift is in place, the city is afflicted with two different and potentially devastating effects each turn. For one, the Chaos Rift will make 5 Armor Piercing Damage attacks each turn against any units garrisoned inside the cursed Town (with an equal chance of each attack striking any unit). These attacks have a strength of File:Icon Ranged Magic.png . Additionally, each turn the spell has a 5% chance of destroying each Town Building in the cursed Town.
- The Rift can be targeted using the mouse, but does not respond to clicking. The Rift resembles the dark portal that appeared in the Tomb of the Primeval Kings on Tyria which is responsible for the infestation of dark creatures that plague the tombs. The Lesser Grasps spawned by the Rift in Raiyan Cave are weaker versions of the Grasps of Insanity found in the tombs. One of the screenshots of Canthan New Year 2007 also has a Chaos Rift in the background. They are also present in the missions Dzagonur Bastion, and Grand Court of Sebelkeh.

Chaos Rifts also appear during the quest Sunspears in Kryta where you must travel through Lion's Arch and get rid of them. Similarly, they also appear in Kaineng Center in the quest Sunspears in Cantha where you must defend Kaineng Center against certain doom. They are also present in the missions Dzagonur Bastion, and Grand Court of Sebelkeh.
