The 1948 Leaf set of 98-cards features black and white player portraits against a solid colored background. The player's uniforms were also colored and quite a number of variations have been reported in the player's uniform and background colors. We've included the more collected variations in the listing below. Recently a Johnny Lujack variation surfaced with his name misspelled "Jonny" on the front. Any additions to the variations list are appreciated. The cards measure approximately 2 3/8" by 2 7/8" and can be found on gray or cream colored card stock or a lighter, nearly white, stock. These differnces in paper stock may account for the large number of color variations discovered. The second series (50-98) cards are much more difficult to obtain than the first series (1-49).
