- Andy Nelson is a British re-recording mixer and sound engineer working in Los Angeles, California. He has won two Academy Award for Best Sound and has been nominated for sixteen more in the same category. He was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in the 2001 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Australia society and Australian film production. He has worked on over 150 films since 1980.

He was originally suspected of having thrown Sergeant Brian Wright over a railing while a conference involving all the federal agencies was being held but was found innocent. Despite this, Nelson was convicted of having sex with an underage Chinese girl who was later found dead in a hotel room and as such, was presumably jailed for doing so.

He played College football at the University of Memphis and was drafted in the eleventh round of the 1957 NFL Draft. He currently owns and runs a small BBQ establishment, Andy Nelson's Barbecue.
