The War of the Areltsi Coalition was a war between the Areltsi Coalition and the Nulvarl Empire that waged from 23 ABY to 26 ABY. At first, the Coalition forces were winning. They managed conquer Issom and siege two other Nulvarl colony worlds. A few small battles were won by Coalition forces, but their advance was slowed by the lone Star Destroyer in Nulvarl possession. The Star Destroyer was damaged in a battle and forced back to Nulvar for repairs. With their biggest threat gone, the Coalition fleets managed to strike at many places and win minor victories after that and drive the Nulvarl back.

The Star Destroyer was damaged in a battle and forced back to Nulvar for repairs. The Battle of Turlin changed the tide of the war and began the end of the Coalition. Turlin was a strategically important planet in the Coalition and when it was conquered by forces led personally by Jorell and Trivas, it was a harsh blow for them. It was also at that battle that the first major rift began between Jorell and Trivas when Jorell killed a million of Turlin's inhabitants. Even after Turlin, several battles were fought. In retaliation for the massacre at Turlin, Coalition forces conquered Stolin and killed three million civilians. In a fury, Jorell conquered a minor Coalition colony while Trivas retook Stolin. Jorell's personal guard began raping and slaughtering the colonists when Trivas found out and ordered other Nulvarl troops to attack the guard. Using his anger at the destruction of his guard, Jorell decided to spin it as Trivas revolting and staged a successful coup against him. With Trivas out of the way, Jorell managed to continue the brutal conquest of the Coalition until he reached Areltsi itself. By this point, it was clear to the Areltsi Coalition that the war was lost so they surrendered and subjected themselves to the harsh rule of Jorell and the Nulvarl Empire.
