The 1970 Richmond 500 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Richmond International Raceway on March 1, 1970. Journeyman James Hylton finally found the perfect combination. Hylton, driving his first race in a Ford, held off Richard Petty by fifteen seconds for Hylton's first career victory. Eventual season champ Bobby Isaac finished 4th. Stats
