Born to Lavi Novak on Hoth, she didn’t stay long. Her mother and she lived there for only a few years with her father Inbar. He preferred the cold as did his daughter, but it wasn’t to the estate of he father. At the age of 5 her father left to go back to his homeworld, she never saw him again. As she grew older she would start to ask more and more questions and life on the Hoth planet was also becoming more difficult for her human mother. “About damn time...where the hell did you go?” “Nowhere, I was sitting over there. You asked for something, so I got it for you.” “Thank the old man.”

  • Born to Lavi Novak on Hoth, she didn’t stay long. Deciding that she no longer wanted to freeze through her days, Lavi packed her and her daughter up and moved to Coruscant. At age 12 Reiko started hanging out in the landing bays after school. After a few weeks, she had picked up on little things here and there, a very observant child. As one of the mechanics began yelling for his assistant to hand him an instrument, the assistant was no where to be found. Reiko walked up and handed him the wrench he had asked for. “About damn time...where the hell did you go?” “Nowhere, I was sitting over there. You asked for something, so I got it for you.” The sound of the young girl’s sassy voice surprised him and he slid out from underneath the shuttle he had been working on. He asked the normal questions and then since he asked her what random tools where. When the assistant came back he was surprised to see a little girl sitting in the cockpit of the shuttle helping with panels and circuits. Conner had walked the girl home a couple of times and even had dinner with her and Lavi. He explained to Lavi that her daughter was an intelligent girl and was picking up on things in the bay very quickly. At 15, Conner took Reiko up in the air and even let her take the controls for a few minutes, of course he was sitting next to her ready to jump in if needed. When he took her home that night she was so excited. She tried to tell her mom all about it but it was late and Reiko had class the next morning. She was sent to bed, but Conner pleaded her case. “She’s a natural Lavi, and she is so happy up there....” “I know when my daughter is happy, but school is much more important right now.” Through out school, Reiko continued to go to the bay day after day. She would study and do homework, then Conner would let her help him out and he would take her up for lessons. During his down time Conner became an integral part of the Novak family. Filling the void in the two women’s lives he as now a husband and a father, and he would never love another child the way he did and had Reiko. When she turned 17, she argued with her mother about joining the NR to train appropriately. Lavi however, managed to convince her daughter to study in something else in case the piloting didn’t work. Reiko took up engineering and mechanics, during her down time however Conner continued to teach her to fly. He knew his adopted daughter was happiest in the air and for her 21st birthday he called in a favor that Lavi was going to kill him for. A fighter pilot buddy of his flew in for the weekend. When he walked through the door Lavi glared at her husband, Reiko looked at the three confused. They blind folded her and after a short trip and being placed infront of the y wing, Pierce looked at her and smirked. “Thank the old man.” “Thanks Dad.” She threw her arms around him and was in tears at the fact that she was going to fly in what sat in front of her. Happy to see her daughter as thrilled as she was, Lavi could no longer be mad at her husband. Conner looked at Reiko and smiled. “Happy birthday baby girl.” A little more than 4 years later, Reiko sought out to follow her dreams and make a living flying those fighters she had learned to love so much. She had her degree in Languages, one in Engineering and a minor in technical mechanics so her mother would have nothing to say about her daughter joining the NR, and that is exactly what she was getting ready to do.
