Abigail's Party is a play by Mike Leigh from 1977. It is a satirical comedy, which plays in the British middle class in the 1970s. The piece originally had no script, but was slowly developed the rehearsals by the Director and the actors; a process that is typical of Leigh. Of the play is a TV version made for the BBC in the series Play for today. This television version is in fact a recording of the play, without further adjustments.The program has a cult status in Britain acquired and ends there high in lists of popular television shows of all time.
