abstract
  • According to the Book of Mormon, Antiparah was located south of the city of Judea ([[s:Book of Mormon/Alma#56 22|Alma56 22]]), and at a higher elevation than Zarahemla ([[s:Book of Mormon/Alma#56 25|Alma56 25]]). We know about Antiparah only because of passages describing the movement of armies during a war initiated by the Zoramites: [[s:Book of Mormon/Alma#56 13|Alma56 13-14, 25, 31-34]] and [[s:Book of Mormon/Alma#57 1|Alma57 1-4]]. The Lamanites, led by their king Ammoron, a Zoramite by birth, took Antiparah and three other cities, Manti, Zeezrom, and Cumeni. Antiparah seems to be the farthest west of the group, being the one closest to the city in the borders of the west seashore ([[s:Book of Mormon/Alma#56 31|Alma56 31]]).
