The 105th Stormtrooper Regiment was an elite stormtrooper formation within the Stormtrooper Corps, serving the Galactic Empire and various succeeding governments; under command of Colonel Julius Khait. Initially led by General Mokh Romm, he was killed in action and Khait assumed command of the regiment, leading it to victory. For that, he was promoted and ultimately given command of the 105th. The unit grew infamous within the Imperial ranks due to it's brutal efficiency. Colonel Khait made sure no one committed war crimes under his command, but some have occurred, and he did allow troops to do "whatever necessary for victory". The 105th became one of the most successful units in the Corps, and was deployed on Yavin IV and Hoth. After the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Khait and the 105th stayed loyal to whoever controlled Imperial City. The 105th joined the forces of the reborn Emperor Palpatine, by serving his Dark Empire, in 10 ABY. They received shadow stormtrooper armor while serving under his command, and had become, essentially, a special forces unit. During Operation Shadow Hand, the 105th took part in eliminating Jedi on battlefields, using various techniques to kill them and render New Republic troops without any field commanders. This gained them notoriety throughout the Republic, and even within the Empire itself. Under Khait, they continued serving the Crimson Empire of Carnor Jax, a former Emperor's Royal Guard, up until the Empire's dissolution in 11 ABY. After that, Colonel Khait and the 105th were recruited by Hethrir to join his Empire Reborn movement, which they served briefly before it also collapsed. The 105th was then accepted into the Imperial Remnant, as with all former Empire Reborn personnel.
