In 1977, Howard stepped down as CEO and handed it down to his son Howard Stark Jr. Howard brought Stark Industries to the top by building state of the art technology.
In 2007, Howard would also step down and hand the company over to his son Tony. Tony would decide to remodel the company and instead of building weapons, he would build technology to help others, leading to the creation of the Iron Man armor. After Tony Stark joined the Avengers, Stark Industries partnered with S.H.I.E.L.D. where he made them special equipment like Quinjet upgrades, protective armor for S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and more, although he didn't make weapons for them.
