| - Leann West, who, according to her microphone, worked for station WMZT, was a reporter covering the TakeOver protests when a bomb went off in Boylan Plaza, killing five people and injuring twenty-eight. In the course of 47 Seconds, Leann is revealed as the unintentional murderer, since she was the one who set off the device, planted by Jesse Friedman, in an attempt to spice up her report and give her career a boost. She is genuinely shocked when the explosion causes such devastation, as Friedman's plan, and original placement of the bomb, was designed to generate considerable noise, but not result in any bodily harm. Leann fails to come forward after Jesse's death, fearing for her career, and rationalising her decision by telling herself that "I kept quiet for Jesse." After Beckett's team deduced her involvement, the FBI took her into custody.
